Welcome to the home page of the Friends of the Nevada Sothern Railway Live Steamers.

We are a 1.5" scale 7.5" gauge live steam railroad operating at the Nevada Southern Railway, with the purpose of educating the public on the days gone by of steam railroading.

In April of 2011 a group of members from the Friends approached the idea of building a 1.5" scale railroad in the Museums lower lot, and with the blessing of the Friends and the State the "Friends of the Nevada Southern Railway Live Steamers" was born. Almost a year later 2200 feet of track has been laid, a steaming bay setup has been constructed for starting steam locomotives and a passenger station area has been completed for public trains. All of this was done by a very hard working crew of Friends volunteers.

Run days open to the public are scheduled for the 3rd Saturday of each month, and for Santa Train weekends.  Come on out and see what railroading was like in the days of steam!
